About

Cookbook Club @ Good Company Books acontece a 18 de outubro de 2026, Good Company Books, em Lisboa.

What to expect from this event? Each month, we gather to explore a new cookbook together. Once the book is chosen, every participant selects a recipe that catches their interest and prepares it at home. You’re encouraged to make the recipe by yourself! Feel free to add your personal touches, substitutions, or creative twists. When we meet, everyone brings their dish to share, creating a table full of diverse interpretations from the same cookbook. Our gatherings take place at Good Company Bookstore, where we enjoy the food, exchange ideas, and talk about what worked (or didn’t!) in each recipe. Cookbook of the month: Sweet by Yot am Ottolenghi and Helen Goh For the final instalment of our baking extravaganza, we will get together with Sweet by Yotam Ottolenghi and Helen Goh. Ottolenghi, the acclaimed chef and bestselling cookbook author known for his vibrant, flavour-packed cooking, teamed up with pastry chef and recipe developer Helen Goh to create a book that celebrates the joy of baking and sharing something delicious with others. With Helen’s expertise in pastry and Ottolenghi’s distinctive approach to flavour, Sweet is full of inspiring bakes that encourage us to slow down, get creative and enjoy the simple pleasure of making something from scratch. It feels like the perfect book to bring our baking series to a close so come ready to bake, taste, chat and, of course, indulge in something sweet! A word from your hostess: I'm Francine, originally from the Philippines, with over ten years of experience in the hospitality industry. My career began in the United States, where I studied Baking & Pastry Arts and gained my first Michelin-star restaurant experience in New York. From there, I moved to London, continuing my work in Michelin-starred kitchens for more than six years. Later, I co-opened a café in Paris with my sister, gradually transitioning from pastry chef to barista. Today, I'm the café manager at Good Company, where I collaborate on menu development, bake cakes in the mornings, and prepare coffees for our guests. Tickets for the event: To secure your place, you must purchase a ticket, which can be used as a voucher for a drink at the bar on the day of the event. The space is limited, so sign up fast to make sure you will secure your slot! After you sign up you will receive via email a Recipes Sheet for our Cookbook Club. Please add your name, chosen recipe, and any dietary restrictions in the appropriate section (Appetisers, Mains/Sides, or Desserts). This system helps us avoid duplicate dishes, ensures a well-balanced spread across the table, and allows everyone to be aware of any dietary restrictions or allergies so that we can all enjoy the meal safely and comfortably. Each category has 5 slots, which will be filled as people sign up. Once a section is full, please choose another category. The Venue Good Company Books is an independent English Bookstore in Lisbon. Born from our love of global literature and our Portuguese heritage, we are crafting a space for people of all backgrounds to gather and enjoy the best books, events, coffee, and wine. Find out more on our Instagram. How To Find Us By Metro: We're situated a 5-minute walk from the Campo Pequeno metro (Yellow line) and a 10-minute walk from the Alameda metro (Green & Red lines).
