Set within a near-future NHS, Drowning follows Elle (Baker), a frontline nurse battling an unravelling mind while fighting for her patients in a broken healthcare system. Made by Cut + Roll Films in association with Silvermilk Productions ( Heavyweight ), with full post-production sponsorship from LipSync ( The Brutalist ), Nicholas Pinnock ( Fightland ) as Executive Producer, and in partnership with PTSD UK, the film was directed by Reiff Gaskell ( Cuerpos ), produced by Alice Duke ( The Roads to Carbon Neutral ), and stars Rebecca Baker ( Juice ) alongside Amelia Bullmore ( The Buccaneers ), Kola Bokinni ( Ted Lasso ), Sophia Myles ( Transformers: Age of Extinction ), Giles Surridge ( Blue Moon ), Tom Victor ( Mary & George ), Helene Maksoud ( Silo ), Sharif Afifi ( The Bombing of Pan Am 103 ) and Elle Strange ( Casualty ).
