Espoon baroque days 2027

Espoon baroque days 2027 decorre de 8 de setembro a 8 de outubro de 2027, em Espoo.

Espoo Baroque Days is Espoo's own early music festival, founded in 2019, and held every autumn in a different part of Finland's second-largest city, Espoo. The festival has an annually changing theme, which often stems from the history of the district in question, and opens up different perspectives on early music. Over the years, the festival has offered a wide range of works from the 16th to 18th centuries, performed on contemporary instruments and respecting historical performance practices, and contemporary music has also been heard. The lineup of performers at the events varies from a small chamber ensemble to a larger orchestra and even an opera or a large church music work with choir. The program includes both compositions familiar to the general public and lesser-known gems, as one of the goals of the Espoo Baroque Association is to offer the public a repertoire that also falls outside the classical music canon. The idea of the touring festival is to introduce the audience to the different districts of Espoo, in addition to the music offerings: what kind of places can be found in the district today and what the history of the district is like. The festival's concerts lead the audience to new places, as concerts are organised in churches, chapels, and museums in addition to traditional concert halls.
