You can click here to view our full refunds policy. - -- D eradoorian Fusing elements of indie rock, avant-garde electronic music, dub, and dance rhythms, Deradoorian is the name Angel Deradoorian works under as a solo artist. She launched said solo career after making a name for herself as a member of Dirty Projectors and collaborating with artists such as Avey Tare and Flying Lotus . Her albums, including 2015's 'The Expanding Flower Planet' and 2020's 'Find the Sun' , are cosmic song cycles informed by her spiritual journey. After collaborating with Kate NV under the name Decisive Pink on 2023's heavily electronic 'Ticket to Fame' , Deradoorian added that sound to her already jam-packed approach on 2025's 'Ready for Heaven'. ‘Ready for Heaven’ deals with heaven and earth, damnation and salvation, and using intelligence against rampant, naked greed. It is a classic forty minute set of inquisitive pop songs, blessed with a lightness of touch and a sharp focus that can’t help but charm the listener. It conjures up some last, faint afterglow of the old belief that an electronic, programmed beat can smash itself - and you - into another, more egalitarian consciousness. “Deradoorian’s voice is the main attraction. Wispy one moment, bellowing full-throated the next, and capable of dazzling melismatic runs, it remains her not-so-secret weapon.” Pitchfork Engaging with past musical glories helps deal with a major theme of this album; the awful nature of the world around us. Deradoorian : “This album is partly about watching humanity erode. It’s about mental struggle, and it’s avowedly anti-capitalist. I mean; would we have all these identity labels we have to live by, if we didn’t live in a capitalist world?” -- Silver Ley Silver Ley (fka. Bethany Ley) is a Bristol-based producer, composer, harpist and vocalist known for crafting intricate and ethereal arrangements that blend their classical background with electronic music. Originally trained in piano, viola, and voice, Ley’s influences span classical, folk, and contemporary electronic music. Their 2024 debut EP ‘Sundial’ released on Lo Recordings, earned acclaim for its inventive blend of electronica and distinct ethereal vocals, leading to a sold-out UK tour and gaining support from Gilles Peterson’s future bubblers programme and PRS Women Make Music. Ley has further supported Kae Tempest and Baths, worked alongside collaborators Ishmael Ensemble, Batu, and Alabaster DePlume and has performed across major UK venues and international stages across Europe. -- Mason Lindahl Mason Lindahl is an American guitarist and composer whose evocative fingerstyle playing has earned him recognition in the contemporary instrumental and folk scenes. Originally from Northern California, Lindahl was introduced to music through his father and developed a deep appreciation for folk and country traditions. His style is influenced by minimalism and classical music, drawing comparisons to artists like John Fahey and James Blackshaw. --- More about FRESH Thursdays... FRESH happens every Thursday during our open seasons. It is a platform to bring you fresh new music served up alongside a homecooked plant based meal, board games and candles. It can be hard to get people out to hear music that they don’t know yet & this is why we decided to offer dinner as an incentive to try something new, these gigs are cosy, communal nights and often you get to hear completely new music for the very first time. The music varies across multiple genres but it is usually fairly gentle listening type music & well suited to a relaxed Thursday night. The gigs are seated and during the sets the audience is very music focused & quiet with time to chat in between the sets and at the end when we keep the bar open. We cook the food from scratch usually and dinner is well suited to lover of vegetables and wholesome cooking, it's usually something like a dhal, veggie chilli, tacos, roast veg or similar, our base line is vegan sometimes with veggie options. We can cater for nut/gluten free meals, but nuts & gluten are used in the kitchen so if you have serious allergies please bear that in mind. Doors at 7pm, we aim to get dinner ready by 8pm and will bring it to you when its ready… music usually starts around 8pm, sometimes later if it’s a busy night for food (we are a tiny team) and we aim to have the music finished by 10-10.15 pm. We can only guarantee dinner with advance tickets and these days we cap dinner at 60 meals and the food tickets do often sell out. We hope/think it's obvious that quality music and dinner for £10 is all about culture & community and that these events cost us money… If you can afford to purchase a higher level ‘Cobalt supporters‘ ticket we appreciate the additional help towards costs very much.
