THE LUCA
"I don't know how you can't like The Luca" - Emily Pilbeam, BBC 6 Music
Vulnerable. Feel-good. Sam Perry’s experiment in how to bring indie-folk and 80s glazed pop/rock together under one roof.
Fronted by Perry and built around his ear for rhythm, vocal harmony and storyteller songwriting, The Luca beams with band-in-the-room energy - enter Sam Newham on drums, Nathan Apps on bass guitar, Tim Malkin (Opehliah) on electric guitar, Harrison Stanford on synths/vocals, Charlotte Lynch (Marnie Glum) on acoustic guitar/vocals and Zoe Cure on piano/vocals.
The full band forms a powerhouse ensemble of local artistry - a spectacle on display at their recent headline show at the Brudenell Social Club during the first performance of the theatrical directors' cut of "100% Alien", The Luca's debut album that chronicles the milestones in recovering self-esteem.
The Luca is a noticeboard for ideas, a processing tool and a reason to play music with friends.
