Organized by Stichting SPEN (Sustainability Professionals Eindhoven Network) , our local event is part of the worldwide Global Goals Jam (GGJ) initiative, a global movement created in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Digital Society School (Amsterdam). Every year, change-makers across the globe design local solutions to help achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. While the worldwide framework typically spans a full weekend, Eindhoven packs all the action into an intensive, high-impact single day! We connect local creative thinkers, designers, students, and professionals directly with challenges provided by local non-profits and public organizations. To bridge the gap between vision and action, we apply our own custom Design Thinking and Systems Thinking methodology. This allows teams to unpack complex, high-level policy-oriented SDGs and translate them into practical, actionable solutions tailored directly to our local reality. Plus, to keep energy high from start to finish, lunch is included, along with a borrel at the end of the day to celebrate and network! This year we are excited to introduce four wonderful challenges from different organsations: POW Beneloux: The challenge: AI for Climate Action - How can we use AI to make climate change actionable? Use the unique combination of AI, data, science and technology in Eindhoven to make climate change visible and understandable in a new way, and inspire people to take action. Think of the Glacier Extinction Explorer principle. Our ambition is to develop a working prototype that POW Benelux can actually test or deploy. Go Green Office The challenge: How might we, as Go Green Office, strengthen collaboration with private, public and third sector companie, so that students are better facilitated to choose for sustainability-focused careers? Buurman Eindhoven: The challenge: How can Buurman Eindhoven become the catalyst for a regional construction sector where reused materials are the norm? What business models, collaborations, and solutions are needed to structurally match the supply of and demand for used construction materials? Tuiskoms initiative Tuiskoms is a place where people feel at home, can come home, and simply be at home - with themselves, with one another, and with Mother Earth. Here, living, learning, working and dwelling are not separate from each other; they nourish each other. Children, adults and elders come together, share knowledge and life wisdom, play, create and in doing so contribute to Life. Tuiskoms offers small-scale, locally oriented, physical indoor and outdoor space in relative quiet. A place where the strength of local and independent enterprise is woven together with living, learning and working in community, without silos, without separation. Where life and work are increasingly sustainable, true to nature and regenerative, in balance with ourselves and with Mother Earth. The challenge: Tuiskoms can only exist when the right conditions are in place: physical, social and organisational. Those conditions require a certain scale. As a regenerative community initiative, how do you find that scale in a way that stays true to who you want to be: letting life flow and creating genuine value, without surrendering to a world of financial gain that is disconnected from real worth? Georganiseerd door Stichting SPEN (Sustainability Professionals Eindhoven Network), maakt ons lokale evenement deel uit van het wereldwijde Global Goals Jam (GGJ) initiatief, een wereldwijde beweging opgezet in samenwerking met het Development Programme van de Verenigde Naties (UNDP) en de Digital Society School (Amsterdam). Elk jaar ontwerpen veranderaars over de hele wereld lokale oplossingen om de Duurzame Ontwikkelingsdoelstellingen (SDG's) van de VN voor 2030 te helpen behalen. Waar het wereldwijde kader normaal gesproken een heel weekend beslaat, propt Eindhoven alle actie in één intensieve, impactvolle dag! We brengen lokale creatieve thinkers, ontwerpers, studenten en professionals rechtstreeks in contact met uitdagingen aangedragen door lokale non-profitorganisaties en publieke instanties. Om de kloof tussen visie en actie te overbruggen, passen we onze eigen op maat gemaakte methodologie toe van Design Thinking en Systeemdenken. Hiermee kunnen teams complexe, op beleid gerichte SDG's ontrafelen en vertalen naar praktische, actiegerichte oplossingen die direct aansluiten op onze lokale werkelijkheid. Bovendien is de lunch inbegrepen om de energie van begin tot eind hoog te houden, met als afsluiting een borrel aan het einde van de dag om te vieren en te netwerken! Dit jaar introduceren we met trots vier prachtige uitdagingen van verschillende organisaties: POW Benelux: De uitdaging - AI voor Klimaatactie Hoe kunnen we AI inzetten om klimaatverandering actiegericht te maken? Gebruik de unieke combinatie van AI, data, wetenschap en technologie in Eindhoven om klimaatverandering op een nieuwe manier zichtbaar en begrijpelijk te maken, en inspireer mensen om in actie te komen. Denk aan het principe van de Glacier Extinction Explorer . Onze ambitie is om een werkend prototype te ontwikkelen dat POW Benelux daadwerkelijk kan testen of inzetten. Go Green Office: De uitdaging: Hoe kunnen we als Go Green Office de samenwerking met private, publieke en maatschappelijke organisaties versterken, zodat studenten beter worden faciliteerd om te kiezen voor duurzaamheidsgerichte loopbanen? Buurman Eindhoven De uitdaging: Hoe kan Buurman Eindhoven de katalysator worden voor de regionale bouwsector waarin hergebruikte materialen de norm zijn? Welke businessmodellen, samenwerkingen en oplossingen zijn nodig om vraag en aanbod van gebruikte bouwmaterialen structureel bij elkaar te brengen? TUISKKOMT Tuiskoms is een plek waar mensen zich thuis voelen, thuis kunnen komen, thuis zijn: bij zichzelf, bij elkaar en bij moeder Aarde. Hier zijn leven, leren, werken en wonen niet van elkaar gescheiden, ze voeden elkaar. Kinderen, volwassenen en ouderen ontmoeten elkaar, delen kennis en levenswijsheid, spelen, creëren en dragen zo bij aan Leven. Tuiskoms biedt kleinschalige, lokaal georiënteerde, fysieke binnen- en buitenruimte in relatieve rust. Een plek waar de kracht van lokaal en onafhankelijk ondernemerschap wordt verbonden met samen leven, leren en werken, zonder zuilen, zonder scheiding. Waar steeds meer duurzaam, natuurgetrouw en regeneratief wordt geleefd en gewerkt, in balans met onszelf en met moeder Aarde. De uitdaging: Tuiskoms kan alleen bestaan als de juiste voorwaarden aanwezig zijn: fysiek, sociaal en organisatorisch. Die voorwaarden vragen om schaalgrootte. Hoe vind je als regeneratief gemeenschapsinitiatief die schaalgrootte op een manier die past bij wie je wil zijn: het leven laten stromen en waarde creëren, zonder je over te geven aan een wereld van financieel gewin die is afgescheiden van reële waarde?
