Leithienda was born from one simple thing: a passion for dance, music and culture. What started humbly in Leith six years ago has grown into something far beyond what we could have imagined: a night with its own identity, energy, and, most importantly, community. Yes, Leithienda is a place where dance music, both new and from across the ages, can be heard; it’s also a place where people come together, old friendships are strengthened, and new ones are made. That sense of connection is at the heart of what club culture and what Leithienda has always been about. Over the years, Leithienda has evolved. What began as a platform for showcasing the incredible talent Edinburgh and Scotland have to offer has grown into a night that has welcomed some of the biggest names in dance music to the city, from Grooverider and Dave Angel to Jon Pleased Women and, more recently, legendary house music DJ and producer Todd Terry, and we’re only getting started! And now, six years on, we celebrate another milestone. For this first of a two-part sixth birthday celebration, we’re delighted to welcome back a very special guest, Jon Dasilva, a DJ who joined us in 2025. After the incredible response to his last appearance, we just had to have him back, and we have absolutely no doubt that this one will raise the bar even higher. Jon is a hugely respected figure in UK dance music, but his story carries an even deeper significance for Leithienda. As a former resident of the world-famous Hacienda in Manchester, Jon was part of the history of a club whose influence continues to resonate through dance music and club culture today. The Hacienda inspired the name Leithienda. We’ve always wanted to acknowledge that connection with genuine respect, drawing on the past while creating something that belongs to Leith and our own time. Joining Jon on the bill is one of Scotland’s rising female DJ talents, Jean Lawrie. After absolutely smashing it at our last pre-club event, Jean proved exactly why she’s a name to watch. We’re delighted to have her back for our sixth birthday celebrations. Plus, in support, residents Mistersmith & DJ Kid.
