Luggs are a four-piece band based in London beldning elements of 90s slack rock and melodic indie into what’s been described as “fuzzy grunge pop”. Their sound thrives on the creative tension between songwriters Teddy and Harvey, whose contrasting styles collide into songs that feel unpredictable and quietly ambitious. Bugbear is the ‘emotronic’ brainchild of Daisy Kane and Ivo Winkley. Drawing on elements of post-rock, electronic and emo music, their songs are home to strange and surreal characters… the most notable being Penelope, their homemade papier mache goblin. Leeds-based contrail are ‘emotionally resonant in a way that can’t quite be placed, but can definitely be felt’. The five-piece alt-rock fusion band combines moments of melancholic introspection with chaotic excitement resulting in a unique blend of wispy vocals, blazing saxophones and crushing guitars. Their deeply personal lyrics convey the existential dread of modern life touching on topics such as relationships, mental health and grief.
