Join me this International Men’s Day for an open and thought-provoking evening exploring masculinity, men’s identity and mental health. While acknowledging the challenges many men face, this event will also highlight positive and constructive ways to support men’s wellbeing and rethink what masculinity can mean today. I'm delighted to bring together a fantastic line-up of speakers, each offering a unique perspective: Dan Flanagan, founder of Dad La Soul, a community network supporting dads and helping them become the fathers they want to be. Sam Thomas, founder of Different Hats and a driving force behind the Your Right Mate? campaign, encouraging men to check in on one another and build stronger connections. Derrick Mason, founder of Mindflow, who draws on his own experiences of prison and homelessness to help others rebuild their lives. Through mentoring, education and practical support, he works to support men experiencing homelessness and those leaving prison. Dr Jason Preston, an academic at the University of Brighton who has written extensively about masculinity and men’s identity. Whether you’re interested in men’s mental health, relationships, masculinity, or simply want to be part of an important conversation, come along, share your perspective and join the discussion. The evening will also offer an opportunity to meet like-minded people, make connections and continue the conversation over drinks afterwards.
