Testimonials “Alex is a fantastic workshop leader - knowledgeable, approachable and gentle in his manner and approach. He has a gift for intuition and ensuring all participants are included and feel at ease, and building a calm and focused atmosphere in the space. ” “Woodcraft for Wellbeing is an extraordinary initiative that offers participants a truly unique opportunity to engage in the mindful practice of spoon carving and woodcraft. As a clinical psychologist, I have witnessed firsthand the profound benefits of nature-based interventions, but this program stands out for its ability to combine the restorative power of mindfulness, creativity, and community in a serene, natural setting. Carving by the warmth of a fire and under the canopy of the woodland fosters a state of mindful presence. Participants are encouraged to slow down, focus their attention on the carving of the wood, sitting together, sharing stories, and quietly working side by side by the fire nurtures a sense of belonging and community. This combination of individual and collective experience mirrors a therapeutic group dynamic, where people can feel supported and safe while working through their own thoughts. Woodcraft for Wellbeing is more than just carving in the woods and learning new skills - it’s a deeply enriching experience that promotes resilience, reduces stress, and fosters a renewed sense of purpose. The therapeutic benefits of carving are undeniable, and the program’s thoughtful design ensures that these benefits are accessible to everyone, regardless of experience or background.” Dr. Alexandra Lagaisse, Clinical Psychologist “It was a beautiful thing to get to tell your own stories, and be given the space and time to share what matters and when it works well to be really listen to.” “I was not sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by the experience and was not expecting it to be so profound. I felt safe amongst mostly strangers which was very welcome. The circle was held in such a way that I felt able to quietly dispel judgement and self doubt and listen more to my heart and allow me to be and feel accepted just as I am. I felt much less alone having taken part. Thank you.” “Lovely relaxing and calming venue with great people. I found listening and being listened to a somewhat liberating and interesting learning experience.” “I have been really struggling before coming here and disconnected and alone, I can’t tell you what a difference this has made to my life, I felt safe and heard and connected.” Past participants of circles
