About
The Headway Community Rocks aconteceu a 30 de setembro de 2026, 3M Buckley Innovation Centre, em Huddersfield.
Welcome to The Headway Community Rocks! Community Rocks captures the heart of our 3rd Headway Huddersfield & District Study Day — a full‑day gathering where leading brain injury rehabilitation professionals stand alongside survivors and families to share knowledge, stories and practical strategies for recovery. 🌍 Overview: The 3rd Study Day – Community Rocks Core idea: Life after brain injury is rocked — personally, emotionally, socially and within the family unit. Recovery is rarely linear, often rocky, and always shaped by the strength of the community around the survivor. What the day brings together Clinical expertise: neuropsychologists, therapists, case managers, support workers and rehabilitation specialists offering evidence‑based insight into recovery, cognition, behaviour, fatigue, identity and long‑term support. Lived experience: survivors and families sharing honest, powerful accounts of how their world was shaken, how relationships changed, and how they rebuilt confidence, purpose and connection. Community collaboration: showcasing how local organisations, charities, professionals and volunteers can work together to create environments where survivors feel safe, understood and empowered. Key themes explored Lives Rocked: the sudden disruption, trauma and identity shift following injury. Families Rocked: changing roles, emotional strain, new responsibilities and the need for compassionate support. Rocky Roads: the ups and downs of rehabilitation — setbacks, breakthroughs, resilience and the importance of consistent, joined‑up care. Community Rocks: celebrating the power of collective support, inclusive activities, peer connection and community‑driven rehabilitation. Why it matters This Study Day strengthens the bridge between professional knowledge and lived experience. It reinforces that recovery is not just clinical — it is social, emotional and communal. When a community works together, survivors don’t just cope; they thrive. Picture a lively conference hall filled with stands, conversations, and the energy of professionals coming together to support brain injury survivors.
