An honest comparison of TIME&SPACE and Memento for event photo delivery: what each is built for, how the pricing models differ, and which one fits your event.

TIME&SPACE vs Memento: Two European Event Photo Platforms Compared

In short: Memento is the other serious European face-recognition photo platform for events. This is the comparison written the way we would want to read it: what each product is built for, where each one is stronger, and the cases where the honest answer is that you should pick them. No scan rates, no delivery rates, no invented benchmarks, because those depend on your event and not on the software.

What Memento Is

Memento (MementoPhoto.AI) is a Paris-based event photo platform, operating from France with a New York office. Photographers upload during the event, faces are matched, and each attendee gets a private gallery of the photos they appear in. It has an Event Technology Awards AI Edition 2026 award for personalisation of the attendee journey, and it works with large sports federations and global brands whose names appear across its own marketing.

If you have seen face-recognition photo delivery at a major congress or a world-class sporting event in the last two years, there is a reasonable chance it was Memento.

Where Memento Is Stronger

Zero-action delivery for VIPs and partners. This is their best idea and we will say so plainly. Alongside the normal scan-a-QR-code flow, an organiser can pre-register speakers, VIPs and sponsors in advance with a photo and an email address. Those people then receive their photos without doing anything at all: no QR code, no selfie, no action. For a keynote speaker walking straight from the stage to a car, that is a materially better experience than asking them to scan anything.

Camera-to-cloud ingestion. Photographers using FTP-capable bodies can flag a shot in-camera and have it move without a laptop step. If your requirement is that a photo of the opening keynote is deliverable while the keynote is still running, that pipeline is built for it.

Enterprise reference logos. They can point at federations and household-name brands. If your procurement process asks who else at your scale uses this, they have a longer answer than we do. That is a real advantage and no amount of feature comparison substitutes for it.

Multi-year enterprise contracting. Their model is built around annual multi-event licences with a dedicated customer manager. If you run 40 events a year under one procurement cycle, that shape may fit you better than buying events one at a time.

Where TIME&SPACE Is Stronger

You can see the price before you talk to anyone. Ours is on the pricing page: 188 EUR, 488 EUR and 888 EUR per event, per event, no subscription. We checked Memento's site on 23 September 2026 and it has no public pricing page. Their sitemap lists six URLs, of which one is a demo request, and the older /pricing path returns 404. To find out what Memento costs you book a call. That is a legitimate way to sell enterprise software and plenty of good companies do it. It is also the single biggest practical difference between us on the day you are trying to build a budget.

Galleries last 365 days on every plan, including the cheapest one. Gallery lifetime is where per-event platforms quietly differ, and it matters more than it sounds: a guest who comes looking for their photos eight months later either finds them or does not. Ours is a year, on every tier, with no upgrade required.

Published retention and consent terms you can read before you buy. Selfie data is deleted after 30 days. The face index built from event photos is deleted a year after upload. Explicit consent is collected before the camera opens, not buried in a footer. All of it is in our privacy policy in plain language. Memento publishes its own GDPR and privacy notice pages: read them and compare directly rather than taking either vendor's summary of the other.

Self-serve. You can create an event and be live without a sales call. For a 300-person conference in six days that is often the whole decision.

We can also shoot the event. TIME&SPACE runs a photography agency alongside the platform. If you need crews rather than only software, that is one contract instead of two. Memento delivers what your photographers upload; it does not supply the photographers.

Capability Comparison

| | TIME&SPACE | Memento | |---|---|---| | Face recognition matching | Yes | Yes | | Guest flow | QR code, one selfie, no app, no account | QR code, one selfie, no app | | Zero-action delivery for pre-registered VIPs | No | Yes | | Logo and sponsor recognition in photos | Sponsor watermarking on downloads | Logo recognition | | Public pricing | Yes, on the website | Not published as of 23 Sep 2026 | | Self-serve signup | Yes | Demo request | | Gallery lifetime | 365 days, every plan | Not published as of 23 Sep 2026 | | Published retention periods | Yes, 30 days for selfie data | See their GDPR page | | EU hosting | Yes | See their GDPR page | | Photography crews available | Yes, agency arm | No | | Event discovery app for guests | Yes | No | | Languages | English, Portuguese, Spanish | English, French |

We do not publish comparative scan rates, delivery rates or engagement figures for either product. Those numbers depend on your signage, your photographers and your post-event email far more than on the software, and anyone quoting them at you without naming the events they came from is selling, not reporting.

Pricing, and Why This Section Is Short

Ours, per event, no subscription: STARTER 188 EUR up to 500 guests, ADVANCED 488 EUR up to 2,000 guests with Event Branding, PRO 888 EUR up to 15,000 guests with Event Branding. Analytics come with every plan. Past events are 50% off any tier. Guests never pay.

Memento's is not published at the time of writing, so we are not going to guess it or repeat a figure from an old rate card that may no longer be accurate. Book their demo and ask. If you want a number to anchor the conversation, ask them for per-event pricing at your guest count and gallery duration, and compare it against the table above.

Which One Should You Pick

Pick Memento if: you are running a large international congress or a federation-scale sporting event, you have a procurement process that rewards enterprise references, you need speakers and sponsors served with zero action on their part, or you are contracting many events a year on one licence.

Pick TIME&SPACE if: you want to see the price and start today without a call, you are running events in Portugal, Spain or elsewhere in Europe and want a supplier in your timezone and your language, you want galleries that stay up for a year, you want published retention terms you can hand to your DPO, or you want the photography crews and the delivery platform from one supplier.

Pick neither if your event is a running race or an endurance sports series. That category has a 22-year specialist and the honest answer is usually them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much does Memento cost?

As of 23 September 2026 Memento does not publish pricing on its website; the path to a number is a demo request. We publish ours: 188 EUR, 488 EUR and 888 EUR per event.

Q: Is there a European alternative to Memento?

Yes. TIME&SPACE is based in Lisbon, Portugal, hosts in the EU, and publishes its pricing and its data-retention periods. Memento is itself European, based in Paris, so this is a comparison between two EU companies rather than a European-versus-American choice.

Q: Do both platforms delete biometric data?

We delete selfie data after 30 days and the face index a year after the photo was uploaded, and both figures are published in our privacy policy. For Memento's periods, read their GDPR page directly rather than relying on a competitor's summary.

Q: Do guests need an app for either platform?

No. Both deliver through the browser: scan a QR code, take a selfie, receive your photos. Nobody installs anything.

Q: Can I use TIME&SPACE with my own photographers?

Yes. The platform works with whichever photographers you hire. The agency arm is available if you want us to supply crews, and it is not a requirement.
