Deleting Your Account: What Actually Happens

Deleting your TIME&SPACE account does not erase anything right away. It opens a 7 day grace period you can cancel, then an automatic erasure.
Deleting Your Account: What Actually Happens
In short: Deleting your TIME&SPACE account does not erase anything right away. It schedules a 7 day grace period you can cancel at any time, and only once that window closes does an automated pipeline permanently remove your data, including every biometric face record tied to you.
Asking to delete an account and watching it vanish on the spot is the pattern most products train you to expect. This one works differently, on purpose, and it is worth knowing exactly how before you click the button.
Deletion is scheduled, not instant
Requesting deletion from your account settings does not touch your data that moment. It flags your account as scheduled for deletion and records the date, then sends you a confirmation email. Nothing is removed yet. A daily automated job checks for accounts whose window has closed and only acts on those.
You have 7 days to change your mind
For a full week after you request it, your account still exists exactly as it was, and you can cancel from the account page or from the link in that confirmation email at any point. Cancelling restores everything immediately. There is no partial state to recover from and nothing to re-enter.
If you organise events, they pause too
If you own an event still inside its paid retention window, guest access to it, scans and galleries included, pauses the moment you schedule deletion. You are told exactly which events this affects before you confirm. The point is not to punish you for deleting your account: it is to stop guests relying on photos tied to an account that is about to disappear, while still leaving you the full week to reconsider. Cancel the deletion and that access comes straight back.
What gets removed once the 7 days pass
Once the grace period ends, one pipeline runs the same steps for every account, in the same order: your selfie images, the face descriptors built from them (the data protected under GDPR Article 9), any descriptor still waiting on a later match, roster face tags, your profile images, and finally the account record itself, including your sign in identity. There is no manual step and no exception made for some accounts and not others.
What can stay behind
A small number of records can survive deletion where the law requires it, limited entries kept for legal, tax, fraud or security reasons. Nothing about your face is ever among them.
The short version
Deleting your account buys you a week to reconsider before anything is touched, and once that week passes, the same pipeline removes your biometric data along with everything else tied to your account. Every account gets the same 7 days and the same erasure, with no faster path and no slower one.
