The QR code that sends guests to their photos does not have to be a plain black square. TIME&SPACE lets you set its colours, dot shape and logo, checks the result stays scannable, and exports it as PNG, SVG or PDF for print.

How to Customise Your Event's QR Code

In short: The QR code guests scan to find their photos does not have to be a plain black square. From your event dashboard you can set its colours, choose a dot shape, add your logo, and export the result as PNG, SVG or PDF. A built-in contrast check warns you before a combination becomes hard to scan.

A QR code is the first thing a guest sees of your event's photo delivery, printed on a table card, a lanyard insert, or a screen at the entrance. A default black-and-white square works, but it carries none of your event's identity. The QR code customiser exists so it does not have to be the one piece of your branding that looks like it came from somewhere else.

What you can change

Ten style presets are built in, from the plain classic square to a dark "Brand" preset in TIME&SPACE orange. Each preset sets a dot shape, a foreground colour and a background colour, and you can override any of the three independently once you have picked a starting point.

The dot shape is not just square or round: square, rounded, circle, vertical bars, horizontal bars and diamond are all options, and the shape applies to every module in the code, not only the corners.

You can upload a logo, PNG, JPG or SVG up to 500 KB, and it sits centred over the middle of the code with a clean background pad behind it so it never touches the surrounding modules directly.

The part that matters more than the design

A QR code is only useful if a phone camera can still read it. Every colour combination is checked against a contrast ratio, and anything below a 3:1 ratio between foreground and background triggers a visible warning before you export. This is the same kind of luminance check used for text accessibility, applied here to whether a scanner can tell a dark module from a light one.

It is a warning, not a lock: you can still export a low-contrast combination if you want to, but you will know you did it on purpose rather than finding out when a guest stands in a dim lobby trying to get their phone to focus on a code that reads as one flat colour.

Export formats, and why there are three

PNG is for anything digital: a slide, an email, a screen at the registration desk.

SVG is for anything that gets edited further, a designer dropping the code into a poster layout without worrying about resolution.

PDF is for print. A code that will be seen from across a room needs to be printed at the right physical size, and a vector PDF holds its shape at any size a printer scales it to, where a low-resolution PNG blown up for a banner turns to mush at the edges.

All three export from the same canvas, so the colours, dot shape and logo you previewed are exactly what prints.

Who gets this

QR code customisation is available on every paid plan, STARTER included. It is one of the things, alongside the event cover photo, invite links, atmosphere photos and roster delivery, that every organiser gets regardless of tier. Event Branding, the ability to restyle the guest gallery pages themselves, is a separate feature on ADVANCED and PRO. The QR code is yours to style from day one.

If you are still deciding between plans, STARTER, ADVANCED or PRO covers what each one actually includes.
