Who Can Access Your Event Dashboard: Owner, Team Member, and Photographer
TIME&SPACE · Organiser's Playbook
A TIME&SPACE event has three access roles: Owner, Team member, and Photographer. Here's exactly what each one can do, and the one thing a photographer can touch that surprises most owners.
Who Can Access Your Event Dashboard: Owner, Team Member, and Photographer
In short: Every collaborator on a TIME&SPACE event dashboard holds one of three roles: Owner, Team member, or Photographer. All three can upload and manage photos. Only the Owner can delete the event, change its URL, or see billing. Team members can invite and manage the rest of the team; photographers cannot. And a detail most owners never expect: a photographer can delete or hide any photo on the event, not just their own uploads, which is why the owner gets an email the moment it happens to someone else's work.
A single person building an event alone is the exception, not the rule. A photography team shoots it, someone on staff uploads between sessions, and the person who created the event is rarely the one at the venue with a camera. The dashboard has to let more than one person in without handing all of them the same keys, so every collaborator on an event gets a role, and that role decides what they see.
Owner
The Owner is whoever creates the event, or whoever an existing Owner hands it to. Only the Owner can change the event's URL, see Plan & Billing, or delete the event outright. Everything else on the dashboard, from uploading and tagging photos to inviting the rest of the team, is also open to the Owner by default.
Team member
A Team member has almost everything the Owner has: upload, delete photos, change who sees them, tag them, read Insights, change event settings and branding, re-index faces, and invite or manage the rest of the team. What a Team member cannot do is delete the event, change its URL, or see billing. Those three stay with the Owner (or a platform admin) no matter how many team members are on an event.
Photographer
A Photographer can upload, delete, and change the visibility of photos, tag them, and read Insights. What a Photographer cannot do is open event settings, re-index faces, invite anyone, or manage who else is on the team. The role exists for exactly the job it names: someone who is there to shoot and deliver, not to configure the event.
The part that surprises owners: a photographer's reach isn't limited to their own uploads
A photographer's delete and visibility controls apply to any photo on the event, not only the ones they personally uploaded. Shoot the ceremony while a colleague covers the reception, and either one of you can delete or hide the other's frames from the same dashboard. That's deliberate: on a multi-photographer shoot, whoever is reviewing the gallery afterwards needs to be able to clean it up without waiting for the exact person who took each shot.
It also isn't silent. The moment a photographer deletes or changes the visibility of a photo someone else uploaded, the event's Owner gets an email naming the photographer, the count, and how many of those photos belonged to somebody else. Deleted photos and their face data cannot be restored, so that notice is the Owner's one chance to catch a mistake before it's final, not a record filed away for later.
How to add someone
From an event's Settings, under Team and access, the Owner or any Team member can invite by email and choose Team member or Photographer from a dropdown. The invite shows up on the roster immediately if the email already has an account, or waits as a pending invite until they sign up. Roles can be changed the same way later, and only the Owner can hand ownership itself to someone else.
The short version
Three roles, one dashboard: the Owner holds the keys that can't be shared (the URL, billing, deleting the event), a Team member runs almost everything day to day including the rest of the team, and a Photographer shoots and manages photos without touching the event's configuration. The one rule worth remembering before a multi-photographer shoot: every photographer on the event can touch every photo on it, and the Owner will know when they do.
